U18 Curling

U18 Curling provides an opportunity for curlers to begin to Excel in the sport and to refine their skills at the same time. Our U18 Program features two training sessions per week, and offers cutting edge technical, tactical, physical, and mental content.

This program is aimed at established curlers with a desire to be competitive at the U18 level and beyond. U18 curlers must be 17 years or under as of June 30, 2024 (i.e., born July 1, 2007 or later). All U18 curlers are also expected to play a meaningful competitive schedule of AJCT and Curling Alberta events in order to be included.

This program runs from September to March, with every Monday practice is followed by a physical training session. All training takes place at the Saville Community Sports Centre, which is the home to Curling Canada’s National Training and Development Centre.

U18 curlers will receive 6 complimentary 1-hour practice passes to be used during the 2024-2025 season. They will also receive a Golden Bears and Pandas Curling hoodie.

The curriculum for U18 Curling has been developed in close consultation with the Head Coach of Golden Bears and Pandas Curling, and is consistent with the guidelines of Curling Canada’s official Long-Term Curler Development (LTCD) Model.
