Facility Access Information and Policies

Van Vliet Complex Access

Van Vliet Complex facilities are accessible with a ONEcard, membership, or daily drop-in pass.

Most University of Alberta students, faculty, and staff can use their ONEcard to access the sport and fitness facilities in the Van Vliet Complex.

Those without ONEcard access — including U of A postdoctoral fellows, university community members’ spouses and dependents, and members of the general public — can purchase a Van Vliet Complex (VVC) membership at the VVC customer service desk.

Government-issued photo identification is required to purchase a membership. All users must carry their valid ONEcard or VVC Membership card to enter or use any/all of the Van Vliet Complex facilities. We do not issue refunds without valid medical reasoning. Read our membership cancellation policy for more information.

Saville Community Sports Centre Access

Access to Saville Community Sports Centre (SCSC) facilities requires a membership or daily drop-in pass.

ONEcards do not provide access to Saville Community Sports Centre facilities. However most University of Alberta students, faculty, staff and alumni, are eligible for discounted membership and drop-in rates.

Memberships are available for purchase at the SCSC East and West customer service desks.

University of Alberta Students, Staff, and Alumni must present a valid OneCard at the time of purchase to receive the discounted rate.
