PUBLIC Drop-in Bouldering

**PLEASE NOTE: The following is for drop-in BOULDERING ONLY - if you are interested in high-wall climbing, please use the "Drop-in High-Wall Climbing" option from the activity registration menu.**

At this time, the Wilson Climbing Centre is offering public drop-in bouldering for $17.00/booking.

In an attempt to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the following rules and guidelines have been implemented for all patrons during drop-in hours; failure to abide by the terms listed below will result in immediate expulsion from the facility and a possible ban on future facility use. Please read the following carefully:

Drop-in bouldering is available through online booking ONLY

  • Patrons must register and pay for drop-in bouldering online 
  • Drop-in bouldering can be booked for a maximum of 2 hours per-person (per day); please note that some bookable times are shorter than 2 hours in duration
  • The admission fee ($17.00) must be paid online - payment in person will not be accepted
  • Registration/payment for drop-in bouldering DOES NOT permit use of the high-wall loft; climbers found abusing this rule will be asked to leave the facility
  • The admission fee DOES NOT include equipment rentals
    • Harnesses, climbing shoes, and belay devices can be rented for an additional fee, in person, at the front-desk of the Wilson Climbing Centre
  • Online booking/payment will be confirmed by a staff member before entry into the facility is permitted - please bring with you:
    • A copy of your receipt
    • A piece of photo ID
  • If this is your first time using our facility, or it has been longer than 1 year since you last signed a waiver, you will be asked to complete a new access agreement and waiver form prior to entry

Health screening and protective measures

  • All patrons will be screened at the door for health issues before entry to the facility is permitted
  • All patrons must sterilize hands (i.e. washing with soap in washroom or applying hand-sanitizer available in the facility) before climbing
  • All patrons MUST WEAR A FACE MASK AT ALL TIMES (regardless of age, gender, etc.) while in the facility
  • Powdered chalk is NOT ALLOWED IN THE FACILITY AT THIS TIME; liquid chalk is permissible (and recommended) as a substitute
  • Social distancing of 6 meters is required within the facility when face masks must be removed (i.e. to consume food/drink)
  • Climbing with a single partner or small cohort is recommended

Come prepared to climb

  • DO NOT bring any valuable belongings with you to the facility
  • Water fountains are closed at this time - water bottles can be refilled in our fill stations
  • Change rooms and lockers at the Wilson Climbing Centre are unavailable at this time; changing and/or storing belongings in the washrooms is not permitted
  • Washroom sinks and toilets are available for use; only 2 patrons are allowed in the washroom at any given time 

Age restrictions and spectators

  • Climbers must be 14 years (or older) in order to access drop-in bouldering
  • A Youth Informed Consent form MUST be completed (in full and signed by the legal parent/guardian) prior to entering the facility
  • Spectators who have not signed up/paid for drop-in bouldering are not allowed to enter the facility

Common courtesy and respect for staff

  • Abuse, confrontation, and/or disagreement with staff regarding any of the above items is unacceptable, and will result in immediate expulsion from the facility (and possible loss of future facility usage)
    • Refusal to follow the AHS health screening protocol each time you enter the facility will result in no admittance 
    • Refusal to wear a suitable face mask will result in expulsion from the climbing gym
    • Patrons are prohibited from bringing in, renting, or using powdered chalk anywhere in the facility; use of powdered chalk will result in expulsion from the facility
  • Please follow all other direction of the Facility staff – we are all working hard towards getting our facilities back up running safely for the enjoyment of all of our patrons.

For contact tracing reasons, every person who intends to enter the facility needs to be registered in advance. You must book each individual participant from your group in their own spot. Any participant who has not registered/paid (according to our entry list) will not be permitted entry to the facility.
