Green & Gold Summer Camp registration for ages 9-11 opens February 19 at 7:30 AM.
A queue system will be in place to ensure a smooth and fair process. Each day, a pre-queue opens at 6:30 AM. At 7:30 AM, everyone waiting in the pre-queue will be randomly assigned a spot in line and admitted to the site in that order. Anyone who joins after 7:30 AM will be placed at the end of the queue.
This camp will give participants an opportunity to explore a variety of sports with the intention of developing a wide range of sport-specific and general athletic skills. Each week participants will explore some varsity sports (basketball, volleyball, soccer, flag football, flag rugby, wrestling) as well as other non varsity sports (badminton, ultimate frisbee). Each week maybe different based on coaches expertise and participant interests.
Campus and Community Recreation at the University of Alberta strives to provide awareness of risks associated with each program/activity it offers. It should be understood that there are risks associated with participation in our programs/activities and that they're inherent to each specific activity. These risks include but are not limited to, the loss of personal property, the possibility of personal injury and physical injury to others such as muscle strains, broken bones, concussions, soft tissue damage, infectious diseases, cardiac arrest, etc. including the possible risk of severe or fatal injury.
It is each individual's responsibility to ascertain whether they have any health conditions which make it inadvisable to participate in that activity. We strongly recommend an annual physical exam prior to the start of any program or activity, and that additional information is sought any time a person's health status changes. Such actions are designed to ensure that participation is within one's health status/limitations. It should also be understood that the individual is responsible for any medical treatment costs which may occur as a result of participation.
